The "Highly Remote" model - with Deepak

Deepak Kumar and his Digital Platforms team have jointly decided on the "Highly Remote" working model. Deepak reveals in an interview how the model is lived out in practice.

In order to establish a modern, hybrid working environment and to consider the diverse requirements and needs of our colleagues, we have developed the four models On Campus, Traveller, Flexible and Highly Remote together with our employees. Each department decides on one of these working models and thus designs its own individual working concept. But what exactly does this look like?

In this blog post, we take a closer look at the Highly Remote model, as Deepak Kumar, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Digital Platforms, tells us how his team lives this model.

You can find all information about hybrid working at ProSiebenSat.1 as well as details about the other working models here

Why did you decide on the "Highly Remote" model as a team?

The Digital Platforms department is dedicated to managing digital initiatives aligned with customer needs, industry trends, and technological advancements. It goes without saying, that we would also like to follow these new trends and technologies in terms of work practices. Therefore, we decided on the "Highly Remote" model to give our teams as much flexibility and autonomy as possible. For our daily tasks, it is not necessary to be physically present. Many things work just as well remotely, and often we can even make more progress on our topics and work more focused.

What concrete advantages does this model bring you?

One major advantage is that we are generally considered as an attractive employer to people from all over Germany.Especially in the Product & Tech sector, this is very helpful because it means we are not limited to one location when it comes to attracting talents. This also aligns to the needs of the teams. With less commuting time, there is more time available for personal interests. Ultimately, the "Highly Remote" model empowers our teams to thrive in a dynamic work environment and enhances innovation.

*Possible travel expenses to the contractually agreed workplace will not be reimbursed during employment.

How do you live "Highly Remote"?

As much as we appreciate working from home, "Highly Remote" does not mean "100% remote". It is also important that we see each other physically in the office from time to time. For that reason, we organize full-day workshops where the team comes together on-site and meet several times a year for a whole week on campus for our so-called "Campus Days". These days are filled with workshops and meetings, providing the opportunity to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and further grow as a team.
